* There were 2 board seats expiring:

* Craig, Barry, and Jerry volunteered to run for the open board seats.
* Noah volunteered to run for the STCLUG chair.

* Got them to all the meetings.

* Ballots were counted
* 28 ballots were counted
* 1 person voted a 2nd time -- we threw out his earlier vote
* 1 ballot was thrown out due to no name on the envelope
* Barry Morrison and Craig Buchek were (re-)elected to the board
* Officers were appointed by the board, per the advisory votes:

* Vice President - Stan Reichardt
* Secretary - Craig Buchek

* Craig had suggested that folks could write suggestions for the group on the back of their ballots.
* 1 person wrote that he'd like to see more UNIX (non-Linux) topics at the SLUUG meetings.
* Aimed more toward professional sysadmins.
====== Annual Meeting February 10 ======
* Per bylaws, we had an official annual meeting on February 10.
====== Domains ======
* Gary added Craig as 3rd contact for SLUUG.ORG domain.
* Carl and Gary - follow up with Noel about transferring the SLACC.COM domain to us.
* Noel asked that we allow current email users to keep their SLACC.COM email addresses.
* Craig renewed STLLINUX.ORG and updated to show 3 names in WHOIS data.
====== Server Admin ======
* Bud Light is still offline.
* Noah has a server we can use.
* IBM X325, dual P4 Xeon 2.8 GHz, 2x72 GB.
* Name: Golden Wheat
* Craig will get with Noah to install the system.
* Noah has loaded VMware ESXi 4.0
* Noah and Craig will install it on Wednesday 3/10 at 2:00 PM.

* Jerry Stutte is writing an app to manage membership.
* Membership application now running on BUD. When more mature Jerry will do a tutorial or presentation.

* Process has changed. Limited to 6 months. Next round may be first Saturday in April.
* Reserving a meeting room now done on line - http://www.slcl.org/services/reserve.htm
* Payment required within 14 days, or we lose reservation.
* To avoid problems, payments need to be made separately to each SLCL Branch.
====== Wash U Cleanup ======
* Jerry Stute, Jeff Muse, and Eric Xu volunteered to cleanup Wash U site.
* Gary Meyer is Captain.
* Captain Gary Meyer still AWOL. Search party has not reported back.
====== IRC Channel ======
* Charles Sharp created an IRC channel on irc.freenode.net.
* Channel is named #sluug.
* Typically 7 people on at times.
* Would like to have someone give a tutorial on using IRC, and show off our channel.
* Craig suggested that we include the IRC channel in Steering Committee meetings.
* Will be hard to figure out the best way to get the online folks to participate.
* Stan will put the IRC channel info up on the web site.
* Stan will put the IRC channel info on ANNOUNCE messages.
====== Purge SYSADMIN mailing list ======
* Stan would like us to clean up the SYSADMIN mailing list, to eliminate people who have not been active for the past year.
* We decided to send a message out to the list, asking who wants to stay on the list. Then we can remove folks that are not staying active.
====== New Attendance Sheets ======
* Stan made new attendance sheets for:
* SLACC, STEERCOM, SLUUG, STLLUG, STCLUG, and HZWLUG
* Yet to do: STLOSUG and SNUG, and groups on HIATUS.

* Everything going smoothly.
* Needs some people there at about 9:30 to help set up.
* Craig has been adding some packages to his server; would be willing to add them to SLUUG servers.
* fail2ban - temporarily ban IPs that have too many SSH failures (unanimous agreement)
* fcheck - file integrity checker - emails files that changed since last time run
* logcheck - email anomalous log entries
* munin - monitoring of system details
* awstats - web stats
* Carl recommended using one of the Sun Netras as a log server.
* Craig wondered if we could put sudo back on Bud.
* Configure it to require root password instead of user's own password.
* Will follow up on SYSADMIN list.
* Craig wondered if we could start applying the patches pending for Bud.
* There are a lot of patches pending now, including kernel and security fixes.
* We have some concern with DNS patches, but Craig has applied them on his systems without issues.
