  • Carl has book sales cash box; needs to hand it off whenever he's not there.

SOLARIS- Dec 19

  • Last minute cancellation of St. Louis OpenSolaris Users Group (STLOSUG) meeting
  • Main: Basics of ZFS File System by Jeff Muse
    • Presenter had to work late.
    • Web page was updated ASAP and item posted to DISCUSS.

HZWLUG - Dec 19

  • Holiday schedule date.
  • Didn't have projector available
  • TOPIC was Finding Linux Resources.
    • Reviewed HZWLUG brochure suggested URLS
    • Looked at stan r.'s bookmark HTML page
    • Looked at TLDP and others
  • Again, satisfied newcomers to Linux.

STLLUG - Dec 21

  • Base: TBD – {Was anything done?}
  • Main: Overview of "democracy" videos from Democracy.
    • Craig Buchek under the weather, showed up anyway
    • Lots of background information and extensive references material
    • Had hardware problem with video projector not displaying videos

Server Migration Project

  • Last gathering was at Old Monroe on November 18.
  • Efforts to date:
    • Target is to migrate email, while allowing users to access email via existing methods.
    • Carl started LDAP study group.
      • Goal is to implement LDAP on servers eventually.
      • Will use LDAP for email
      • Have enough folks knowing LDAP to do support.
    • Migrating mailing lists to Mailman on new server.
      • Has been migrated
      • Mailing lists have been moved (need to be turned on).
      • We need to schedule move to mailman and switch MX records.
  • Decisions made:

    • Migrate Chris Byrd's Drupal install over for Security site.
    • Stan R. will build offline (sensitive?) working documentation matrix of machines (for recovery)

Dial-up Line Removal

  • We were to have Wash U drop the remaining line on October 30.
    • Lee sent them a physical letter on 10/20 and 11/20.
    • Still active on 12/04.
    • Was letter lost or misdirected? Send again and call?
    • Gary was to follow up on cancellation of WU phone lines.
    • Gary will remove defunct WU Dialup hardware in a few months.
