      • Sites like WITS, CVillage, Arch Reactor, 2600.
    • Our site layout has not changed for years.

    • After all, part of the idea of maintaining the calendar is to drive traffic to our own mtngs!
      • Could be highlights on the Google calendar itself &/or additional 1-2 lines written outside the Google calendar.
      • Lee pointed out that advanced users may pull RSS that would not see the "off-Google" lines.

New Business

SLUUG Web Site Alternative Offers

  • FYI Webalizer report.
  • Both Noah Lance and Craig Buchek have worked on "new" web pages in the past.
  • 2014-03: Scott Granemann indicated our current web site sucks for mobile users.
    • He proposed we switch over to using their service for minimal monthly fee.
    • They would redesign the site for us and host on their CMS.
    • Learning to manage content on their CMS shouldn't be significant.
      • Harry (John) Hodges of Graybar offered assistance.
  • 2014-03: Our needs:
    • We have 2 web sites that we need to update.
    • Better appearance
      • Especially on mobile
    • Easier to maintain
      • Web interface
      • Easier for multiple people to edit
    • Our on-going issue is finding people to find the time to help.
  • 2014-03: Andrew's proposal:
    • First, redesign static content of existing site(s)
      • LUG first, then UUG page
      • Using Bootstrap CSS framework (helps with mobile)
    • Second, use Monstra (static site builder with no DB required)
  • 2014-03: Steering committee decided to go with Andrew's proposal for now.
    • Keeps our current hosting.
    • Smaller incremental changes, that we're more comfortable with.
    • More done by our members.

STL Business Expo

  • 2014-03
    • Next one is on Tuesday, 8 April
      • At St. Charles Convention Center, Embassy Suites (off 5th Street, old FairGrounds area).
    • Stan R. asked Tony Lavasco if EPC would provide a copy of the Nexradix Linux poster for our booth.
    • We need to call for volunteers during March meetings.
    • Anything else?

Anything Else New?
