    • Stan had 4 thumb drives with 30GB videos for newcomers. People came out and loaded them. Dave just returned his to Stan. Those with laptops (USB3) copied very fast!
    • Stan now has a lot of pretty pictures on the returned thumb drives!
    • Dave says there were a lot of newcomers who've attended 7-8 years, mostly old timers.
    • Stan is surprised at how many people are ready for CLI after using Mint for a month or two.
    • Gary shared how one guy was interested in how GPS works.
    • Dave & Stan discussed Julian dates and how useful they are in absolute time systems.

Web Site SLUUG.ORG Maintenance

  • SUMMARY: Our traditional Internet presence is with our main SLUUG web site.

    • Copyright date on web page footer changed.
    • Appearance of the drop down list of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) has been completely cleaned up by removing defunct groups.
    • Stan R has been experimenting with altering the SLUUG General Meeting current design with new structure TEST design.
      • This structure is same as the one Andrew Latham provided for the STL LUG and is now being used for all of our active LUGs.
      • Have not yet been able to figure out color scheme coding.
      • Setting the right sequence of sections for smart phone display will be important; but, is proving to be quite hard to manipulate.
      • Most sections look fine on desktop FireFox browser display; but, some are missing on smart phone display possibly because of considerable errors in HTML.

    • Stan R had wrong meeting date on SLUUG main page (it still showed January date) and failed to update SLUUG February topics on MEETUP page.

I scrolled all the way to bottom to get another list of links. Dave suggested clicking on the menu head, which opens another page of links.
