  • SUMMARY: We put up a server on the Internet for email, it grew, and now we have to maintain it.

    • Lee has been discussing terms with Contegix for continued service

    • The XFER of all functions to BOCK on the VM at OMNItec (and off of Amber at Contegix) will happen TONITE after this SteerCom mtng. Lee has tested mail clients.

    • Stan reports that we need to arrange to set up separate cert for stllug.org domain since it doesn’t match wildcard. Must be sure and continue paying for it!

Web Site SLUUG.ORG Maintenance

  • SUMMARY: Our traditional Internet presence is with our main SLUUG web site.
  •  Minutes narratives prior to 2018 have been removed.

    • Copyright date on web page footer changed.
    • Appearance of the drop down list of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) has been completely cleaned up by removing defunct groups.
    • Stan R has been experimenting with altering the SLUUG General Meeting current design with new structure TEST design.
      • This structure is same as the one Andrew Latham provided for the STL LUG and is now being used for all of our active LUGs.
      • Have not yet been able to figure out color scheme coding.
      • Setting the right sequence of sections for smart phone display will be important; but, is proving to be quite hard to manipulate.
      • Most sections look fine on desktop FireFox browser display; but, some are missing on smart phone display possibly because of considerable errors in HTML.

    • Stan R had wrong meeting date on SLUUG main page (it still showed January date) and failed to update SLUUG February topics on MEETUP page.
    • Lee Lammert updated SLUUG February topics on the MEETUP page.
    • Above errors, delays and omissions may have affected SLUUG general meeting February attendance.
    • ANNOUNCE for the week and our Google Calendar entries had correct information.

    • Somehow the Sponsored Events half of the SLUUG Google Calendar lost permissions and had to be reset. That had caused loss of our abbreviated calendars on all web sites.
    • Andrew Latham provided some very constructive criticism on Stan R's effort to develop future replacement main SLUUG test page.

      • Lee: we’ll just make sure Stan can’t sell the house.

    • Stanford B complained about incorrect feature. Stan R suggested Stanford B could volunteer to fix. (Sound of crickets chirping.)

    • QUESTION: Are there any significant problems with the new home page style?
    • ANSWER: (Don) I had problem selecting the Wiki from top menu. Menu vanished when I scrolled down below item #6. Menu is white text, transparent over pale blue background. I scrolled all the way to bottom to get another list of links. Dave suggested clicking on the menu head, which opens another page of links.

Saint Louis County Library Room Reservations

  • SUMMARY: Room reservations at Saint Louis County Library Branches are available on each first Saturday of October and April.
  • HISTORY: We routinely reserve and pay fees for monthly SIG meetings at various Saint Louis County Library Branches.
